ChatGPT Answers Introduced By Microsoft Bing In Search Results

A new update has been introduced by Microsoft to Bing.com that includes a major change in its search results — the addition of ChatGPT responses to search queries.

In some cases, users will now view Bing AI answers instead of featured snippets to their queries, with prompts to continue conversations with the chatbot. The answers will include a notice suggesting they are "summarized from x number of sources and web," with links to all the referred sites.

This update is seen as a deal breaker for independent content creators as Bing will be summarizing content from multiple sources and presenting it as a single answer. This may discourage users from clicking through to those individual websites, leading to reduced website traffic.

The new version of Bing.com is powered by a next-generation OpenAI ChatGPT4 language model that has been specially trained for web search.

Microsoft's CEO, Satya Nadella, recently spoke about the company's AI-powered future, saying, "AI will fundamentally change every software category, starting with the largest category of all – search."
