Microsoft is all set to release a new Polls app for Microsoft Teams. This app would be a revamped version of the same functionality of the Polls feature of the Microsoft Teams Forms app.
According to Microsoft, a majority of people (according to customer feedback and telemetry) didn't know the “Forms” App provides polling capability in Teams. For this reason, Microsoft will now deliver a new Teams app specifically for polling capabilities so better experiences can be delivered. The “Forms” app will only be available in the Teams channel tab to offer Survey capabilities.
Users don't need to worry about losing their old data as the new Microsoft Forms App “Polls” will have the same service, functionality, and no need for data migration. In case users have created polls previously in the original App “Forms”, there will be no impact. Poll owners can still view them in the new App “Polls” portal in Teams OR view it in the Forms web portal page (http://forms.office.com/).
The original “Forms” app will be retired from Teams meetings in mid-November 2021, and then will be retired from Teams chat at the end of December 2021. The "new" app is expected to get rolled Teams meetings and then move to Teams chat in mid-October and is expected to be complete by the end of November 2021.
